Shiva Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital is an institution established by Shiva Educational Society which is a trusted name in the field of education in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh with a credible history of imparting knowledge to the society by means of a gamut of educational institutions. The Society was formed with a novel objective of imparting education to the needy in the year 2006 and came up with Shiva College of Education at Ghumarwin, Distt. Bilaspur, H.P. in 2007 which was the first private College of Education in the district. Being affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and recognized by the National Council of Teachers’ Education (NCTE), New Delhi, the institution has grown up as a premier institution offering B.Ed. course with an annual intake of 200 seats.

COLLEGE

Started in the year 2016 with an intake capacity of 60 seats, with permissions from the department of AYUSH, CCIM New Delhi and affiliation to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, the College has been working towards making strong foot prints in Ayurvedic field. It is a notable fact that Shiva Ayurvedic Medical College is only the second Ayurvedic College and the first private Ayurvedic College in Himachal Pradesh State affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. The College is situated in the midst of lush green environment overseeing the majestic Sutlej River. The academic session is as per the guidelines of HPU from October to September every year with two vacations. It currently has all the qualified staff required for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th professionals and well equipped and spacious dissection hall, physiology lab, pathology lab, demonstration rooms and a teaching pharmacy. The class rooms are spacious, well lit and fitted with AV aides. All the requirements with respect to infrastructure of the College are complete.

HOSPITAL

Shiva Ayurvedic Hospital is the conglomeration of good infrastructure, expert staff and highly efficient equipments. This is a 60 bedded hospital equipped with all the facilities like ultra modern pathology lab for biochemical and serological tests, urine and stool, AERB certified X-ray unit, ECG, well stocked drug store, etc. The hospital has a well equipped operation theatre, labor room and casualty department offering 24 hour services. hospital has well established Panchakarma theatre with separate accommodation for ladies and gents, Pharmacy section for teaching and training to BAMS students. For Ayurvedic treatment protocols among the public for common as well as uncommon diseases, the Hospital has been organizing various programs viz; monthly free medical checkup camps at nearby places in partnership with local bodies and schools, screening camps for various diseases at the Hospital, Yoga classes for general public, awareness lectures by teaching faculty at various schools and colleges, etc.

Born on the 26th of February 1979, Dr. Harsha NM secured BAMS degree in 2002 at JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Mysuru affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka and went on to complete his MD (Ayu) from the same institution in the subject of Rasashastra in 2005. Further, he worked at JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Mysuru from 19th June 2006 till 12th December 2016 as Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and Reader (Associate Professor) during which he organized some CMEs, Workshops and other academic events for undergraduates and post graduates on Rasashastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, Research Methodology and Medical Statistics and others. He assumed the charge of Principal and Medical Superintendent at Shiva Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital on 14th December 2016.
